BIG NEWS! Starting on Wednesdays in September, Love & Cornbread will be holding regular volunteer cooking nights at the fabulous, just-opened, Our Time Kitchen in Remington. This community shared-use kitchen is run by two chefs dedicated to the mission of empowering women of color and people of marginalized genders in the food/restaurant industry. Check them out Facebook or Instagram (@ourtimekitchen) and support them via their pop-ups, cooking classes, and more. Know a food business in need of cooking space? Send them their way!

And this Saturday outside the barbershop was just one of those days that felt amazing. The vibes were so good - am I right, people? We had a big group of volunteers (THANK YOU, ALL!) and everyone was just in a groove. We had a huge, friendly, crowd of guests and we served around 150 people in less than 45 minutes with lots of hugs and smiles.

Thinking about all the ways we'll be able to expand our menu and serving capacity thanks to this new kitchen space is incredibly exciting. And it means that we'll have a new way of interacting with all of you, Cornbread Friends. WE CAN'T WAIT! More details to come soon.

Stats: 90 tuna salad sandwiches, 90 turkey and cheese, 36 PB&J, a case of bananas, 8 bags of clementines, 64 bars of soap, 152 bottles of water, 10 gallons of Gatorade, 500 masks, and lots of snacks.
