Saturday, Feb. 27 Update

It just feels good to feed people. And this week was all about the food. We had our first ever Guest Chef Takeover this week, meaning a group of friends banded together to make 50 servings of a menu that they planned: macaroni and cheese, fruit cobbler, and fresh fruit. Two of our volunteers baked gorgeous homemade cookies and also helped serve on Saturday. I’m so glad they were able to see for themselves how much our guests appreciate homemade cookies - not just for the treat, but because they are made with care.

Stats: 50 servings of macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and fruit cobbler, plus bananas and and clementines, homemade cookies, and 2 gallons of hot cider. We handed out 40 bag lunches and 40+ wellness kits provided by students at Notre Dame University of Maryland.
