Saturday, Dec. 18

It was buzzing out there today with a dozen volunteers and lots of special holiday extras to pass on to our guests. What did we have? What didn't we have! Hand-quilted Christmas stockings full of cold-weather supplies, hand-knit scarves from several different talented knitters, homemade cookies, hygiene kits with much-needed new socks and soap, and much more. And thanks to our wonderful crew of volunteers, Love & Cornbread will be out serving on Sat. Dec. 25 with lots more special items to share, along with delicious hot, homemade food.

After wrapping up our service this week, some of our core advisory board/volunteer members went to visit with two of our neighbors along Pennsylvania Avenue. First stop was Eternal Flame Outreach Center where we met with Pastor Keith Bailey and then over to the Arch Social Club where John Harris and other leaders graciously gave us a tour of their stunning building and talked with us about the club's long history and aspirations for the future. It was a joy and a privilege to meet with these neighborhood leaders. 🧡🧡🧡

Stats: 74 breakfast burritos, 50 bag lunches, 5 gallons of hot cocoa, 70 bottles of water, and so many special holiday items that I couldn't count them all!
